I am from a small town called Tipton, MO. I am one of five kids and am blessed to say I have the best parents and family anyone could ask for. With two sisters and two brothers, I fall right in the middle of those I consider to be my closest friends. Sports and the outdoors have always been a big part of my life. You can usually find me outside doing something active, at the lake with my family, reading a book, or hanging out with friends.
I graduated from Westminster College with a degree in Biology, where I
also played basketball for four years. In college, I spent countless hours in the cadaver lab, on the basketball court, in the microbiology lab, in the weight room, and in and out of meetings. Being busy is what I do best. I also studied abroad in Belize, traveled the country in a mini-van for our alumni office, and
found my passion for biology. After spending a year in the corporate workforce, I decided to change paths and enter my calling as a teacher and coach. I attended graduate school at Mizzou and earned my Master's degree in Science Education.
When I'm not teaching or coaching, I love to travel! One of my favorite things to do is hike or explore our world's natural beauty. I spend most of my summers in the mountains getting lost in the wilderness.
I'm also fortunate enough to serve as a sponsor for a district trip where we take a group of students to the Grand Tetons in Jackson Hole, WY each summer. Don't forget to ask me how to get your name on the list!
